Page and Tap Controls

Adjust tap zones, read wide pages, and choose device controls in the image reader.

Open settings from the image reader, or open Settings → Image Reader for your defaults. These controls apply to page images, rather than EPUB text or PDF documents. Use Applies To when shown to choose global, source, or title settings.

Use the Action Panel

Open Reader Actions in the reader to see its chapter list, bookmarks, and Reader Settings. The chapter-list button also shows chapter progress. Use the chapter arrows to move between chapters.

Lock Rotation and Unlock Rotation change the reader’s rotation lock. The Live Text action appears when supported. Minimize Reader appears when the current reading session can be minimized. Tap outside the panel to close it.

Adjust Tap Zones

Turn on Tap Sides to Navigate to turn pages or move through a vertical chapter by tapping screen regions. The other tap controls appear when this option is on.

Choose Horizontal Layout and Vertical Layout to set the arrangement of the regions. Turn on Display Navigation Guide to see the active regions on the screen.

Use Invert Tap Zones to swap navigation horizontally, vertically, or in both directions. For example, horizontal inversion swaps the left and right regions. Check the navigation guide after making a change.

Animate Tap Navigation controls page-turn animation for taps. Swipe navigation remains interactive.

Split or Rotate Wide Pages

Split Wide Pages shows a wide page one half at a time. Turn on Invert Split Order if the halves appear in the wrong order for the title.

Rotate Wide Pages to Fit shows a wide page sideways. Use Invert Rotation to change the rotation direction.

Split and rotate share one choice. Turning one on turns the other off. They affect single-page paged reading; double-page mode keeps spreads whole.

Zoom and Pan

Zoom Start Position chooses where a zoomed page starts. When Image Scale is Fit Screen, Auto-Zoom Wide Images is available. Its Zoom To control chooses page width or screen height.

With Pan Wide Images on, navigation taps move across a wide zoomed page before turning it. This lets you read the remaining part of a page without skipping ahead.

Set Device Controls

The This Device section has controls for Rotation, Keep Screen On, and Show Reading Mode. Live Text appears when the device supports it.

These choices apply to all titles on this device. They are separate from source and title overrides and are not copied by reader presets.
