Terms of use
Rules for using the Suwatte app and website.
In short. Suwatte is a reader. It does not come with content or a catalogue. You choose the files, Servers, and third-party Sources that it uses, and you must use them lawfully.
1. The app licence
If you download Suwatte from Apple's App Store, your licence to use the app is governed by the Apple Standard End User License Agreement. We do not replace it with a custom App Store licence.
These terms set rules for using the app and this website. They supplement the Apple Standard EULA. If these terms conflict with that EULA about your licence to the app, the EULA controls.
2. What Suwatte does
Suwatte reads content that you add in one of three ways: physical files that you select, Servers that you connect, and Sources that you install. Suwatte ships with no Sources, content, or catalogue. We do not operate a content service, and content requests do not pass through a Suwatte server.
3. Lawful use
You must not use Suwatte or this website to:
- infringe copyright, trade mark, privacy, or another person's rights;
- access or distribute material that you are not lawfully entitled to use;
- break a law or the terms of a service that you choose to access;
- circumvent access controls or interfere with a service; or
- create or distribute a Source for one of those purposes.
You are responsible for the content and services that you choose and for protecting the credentials that you enter.
4. Third-party Sources, Servers, and websites
A Source is a third-party plugin that runs on your device with network access. A Server is a Komga, Kavita, or OPDS service that you operate or are authorised to use. We do not write, review, approve, endorse, or control third-party Sources, Source lists, Servers, or the websites that they access.
Those services can change or stop working without notice. Their own terms and privacy policies apply. Install Sources only from lists that you trust, and connect only to Servers that you are authorised to use.
5. Intellectual property
The Suwatte app, website, name, marks, and original design are protected by intellectual property law. These terms do not give you ownership of them or of third-party content.
We do not host content reached through a third-party Source or Server. Send a notice about that content to the operator that hosts it. If you believe the app itself or material that we publish on this website infringes your rights, email help@mantton.com with your contact details, a description of the work, the location of the material, and the reason that you believe the use is unauthorised.
6. Your data and backups
You are responsible for keeping copies of data that matters to you. iCloud sync, Suwatte JSON backups, and downloaded files are different systems and do not contain the same information. Read the privacy policy and the backup guide for details.
7. Availability and changes
We may add, change, suspend, or remove features and publish updates. We cannot guarantee that a third-party Source, Server, website, or file format will remain available or compatible.
We may update these terms. The version and effective date at the top identify the current terms. We will call out material changes where practical.
8. This website
The website and its documentation are provided for general information. We try to keep them accurate, but they may contain errors or lag behind the current app. To the extent permitted by law, the website is provided as is. Nothing here limits a consumer right that cannot lawfully be limited.
