Downloads
Keep chapters on the device, control how they transfer, and manage the space that they use.
A download keeps the pages of a chapter on the device. You can then read without a network connection.
Download a chapter
Add a chapter to the queue from the chapter list of a title. You can add a range of chapters at the same time. The queue processes them in the background.
A title with a download shows on the Downloaded Titles shelf.
The settings
Open Settings → Sources → Downloads:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Max Concurrent Chapters | Sets how many chapters download at the same time. |
| Max Concurrent Transfers | Sets the total number of network transfers. |
| Only Download on Wi-Fi | Holds a download until the device has Wi-Fi. |
| Background Downloads | Lets a download continue when the app is not in front. |
| Delete Source Download Upon Completion | Removes a chapter after you read it. |
The chapter, Wi-Fi and background settings apply to source downloads and to server downloads. The automatic delete applies only to a source download.
Manage the space
The same page reports the space that your downloads use. It lists each server separately under Server Download Storage, with a count of books and a size. Swipe a server to remove its downloads.
A remove operation does not change your progress. Download the chapter again later and continue from your position.
Downloads, backups and sync
A download is not in a Suwatte backup, and it does not sync through the app database. Download it again on another device.
After you restore a backup or sign in on a new device, your library and your progress come back. Download again what you want to read offline.
